Vietnam Veterans continue to serve!
On October 24, 2013, Vietnam Veterans of America, New Hampshire State Council and Chapter #41 were honored for their service to the American Red Cross Blood Services, Northern New England Region. In a ceremony at the Northern New England annual meeting, Marc Major, Donor Recruiter for the Manchester Donor Center presented a plaque to Ray Goulet, President of the New Hampshire Vietnam Veterans State Council. Also on hand for recognition was Russ Lauriat who has assisted at every blood drive.
For the past 6 years, they have sponsored blood drives at the American Red Cross Donor Center in Manchester in honor of Memorial Day and also in honor of Veterans Day. Each year the Vietnam Veterans invite family, friends and fellow Veterans to donate the gift of life. They also have donated money in order to provide food for the donors to enjoy.
In that time the American Red Cross has collected a total of nearly 500 pints of life saving blood at their sponsored blood drives. It’s with deep appreciation that Marc Major and the entire American Red Cross thank the Vietnam Veterans for their efforts. From Vietnam to New Hampshire, you continue to serve a grateful Community and a grateful Country.
